FAQ

Can I request a priority commission?
I do place priority status on birthday gifts, anniversaries, contest prizes and other time-sensitive material for no extra fee.  Be sure to tell me what you need and by what date.

Where can I check the status of my commission?
Sometimes I release work-in-progress shots on my tumblr.  I also have a Trello account, which is basically an online list.

Can I ask you directly if my commission is not listed?
Yes, absolutely.  You may contact me at pinxiedust.tumblr.com, or send an email to pinxiedust.art@gmail.com

What if I have other questions?
Feel free to email me or catch me on tumblr.  I will do my best to answer any questions you may have.

By commissioning me, you agree to these terms.

Your Rights

  • You may alter, distribute, re-post, and otherwise use artwork I have created for you for personal use -- websites, avatars, personal prints, etc.
  • I do not mind if you print artwork I have created for you for a personal item or two. Example: You purchase custom artwork from me. You then have it printed on a mouse pad and a tote for yourself.
  • You may not re-sell my work.  Example: you have my art of your character printed on a notebook and sell for profit.
  • If you have plans to use any of my art in a commercial project, we would need to discuss that.

My Rights

  • I reserve the right to display any and all artwork I create to promote myself as an artist for hire.  I will not claim ownership of your characters, designs, or other creative content.
  • You may specifically request that I do not display a piece of artwork that I have created for you, but there may be additional charges for privacy.
  • I reserve the right to decline any commission for any reason. If I am the one to cancel, I will refund you 100%.
  • If I have already started your commission, have been paid, and you decide to cancel, I may ask to keep 50% of the payment, depending on how much work has already been done.
  • By commissioning me to make art for you, you agree to let me display and sell the created artwork on prints and through various printing services such as RedBubble, etc. Selling prints of my work helps me support myself and my business, and is becoming increasingly attractive as a means to keep producing art. You may request that I do not add your commissioned artwork to my printing services, but it is strongly preferred that I retain that right.
  • The copyright to the artwork that I create for you remains with me.

Time and Priority

I will work on the easiest and fastest, most interesting, or pre-paid commissions first. I take special occasions into consideration and will try to finish by a set date if informed within a reasonable amount of time. The more complex the work, the more time will be needed to finish by your special day. I prefer at least three weeks' notice.

Payment

I accept payment only through PayPal.

Payment is due up front. Larger sums may be arranged for 50% up front, 50% upon completion.  I am able to show sketches and in-progress work at any time.  I will make a few edits if I have misrepresented your character for no charge.

I will send an invoice.  Refunds are possible, but I would like to discuss problems and attempt to fix them before it reaches that point.  Please be sure to provide me with the correct email address to send your invoice to!

After payment of your invoice, you will receive a follow-up email letting you know that no shipping is required.  You do not have to reply to this email.

Delivery

Commissions are considered "delivered" once posted to my tumblr gallery and/or my twitter. Full size resolution files are available, and may be given via email or tumblr message. If not provided automatically, you may request it for no charge.
